Established in 2017, FL Engineering is an electrical engineering consulting firm built on decades of experience. Our senior professionals bring deep expertise in the design and engineering of electrical systems—whether interior or exterior, on-site or off-site. John Finn, AScT.
With 25+ years of experience in lighting and electrical systems design, I have contributed to successful projects across many industries and sectors from highways to multi-use pathways, airports to schools. My passion is lighting design and seeing how well-designed lighting can amplify the concept of a space.
I work closely with the project team with a “boots on the ground” focused approach. This helps to ensure practical and cost effective designs that help capture the vision of the space. Every client defines sucess differently and I enjoy the challenge that each and every unique client project brings.
Darcy Metz, P.Eng., LC
As an electrical engineer with decades of experience, I have helped a number of clients realize their vision on a multitude of projects, including leading the electrical and lighting design on award-winning and flagship projects such as the Okanagan College Jim Pattison Centre for Excellence, UBC AMS Nest, Squamish PCPH Presentation Centre, and UBC Rec Centre North.
I enjoy the fresh challenge that taking a requirements-based approach to design provides, as every project for every client has different goals. This involves working closely with clients to determine their needs and adapting the design to meet their goals in every aspect of the specification of electrical equipment and systems.
